Accessibility Statement

Last updated May 2026

Reptisitter is committed to making our platform accessible to people of all abilities, including reptile owners and sitters who use assistive technology. We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, and we treat accessibility as an ongoing engineering priority rather than a one-time project.

What we currently support

  • Keyboard navigation across all primary booking, search, and account flows
  • Semantic HTML headings and landmarks for screen-reader navigation
  • Alt text on informational and content images
  • Color contrast meeting WCAG 2.1 AA on body text and primary actions
  • Resizable text up to 200% without loss of functionality
  • Focus indicators on interactive elements
  • Form labels and error messages associated with their inputs

Known limitations

We're transparent about what isn't perfect yet:

  • Some embedded third-party content (Stripe checkout, certain map components) follows the accessibility posture of those providers; we work with them on improvements but cannot directly modify them.
  • User-uploaded images (sitter profile photos) may lack descriptive alt text. We are rolling out an automated alt-text suggestion for uploaders.
  • Some animations may be reduced but not entirely disabled when prefers-reduced-motion is set; we're closing this gap.

Compatible assistive technologies

We test against current versions of:

  • VoiceOver (macOS, iOS) with Safari and Chrome
  • NVDA and JAWS on Windows with Chrome and Edge
  • TalkBack on Android with Chrome
  • Browser zoom and OS-level text scaling up to 200%

Report a barrier

If you encounter an accessibility barrier on Reptisitter, please tell us. We treat accessibility reports as high-priority bug reports and aim to acknowledge within two business days.

Email accessibility@repti-sitter.com with a description of the page, the assistive technology you use, and what didn't work. If you'd like a phone call back, include a number and we'll reach out.

Standards reference

We benchmark against WCAG 2.1 Level AA and the U.S. Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Title III. We do not yet hold a formal third-party accessibility audit; one is planned as the platform matures.
