Question 1

How much does a reptile sitter cost?

Accepted Answer

Reptisitter visits start at $25 per visit. Overnight, holiday, and multi-reptile stays are priced higher based on the sitter's rate and your reptile's needs. You see the exact price before booking — no hidden fees.

Question 2

Are Reptisitter sitters background-checked?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every Reptisitter sitter completes a Vetty background check before their profile can accept bookings. We verify identity, criminal history, and sex-offender registries in all 50 states.

Question 3

What reptiles do your sitters care for?

Accepted Answer

Bearded dragons, ball pythons, corn snakes, king snakes, leopard geckos, crested geckos, chameleons, iguanas, monitors, tegus, tortoises, box turtles, blue-tongued skinks, and other common exotic reptiles. Each sitter lists their species specialties on their profile.

Question 4

Does the sitter come to my home?

Accepted Answer

Yes — Reptisitter is an in-home care platform. Your reptile stays in its own enclosure, in your home, on its own routine. The sitter visits per your schedule to feed, mist, spot-clean, check temperatures, and monitor health.

Question 5

How does Reptisitter differ from Rover or general pet sitters?

Accepted Answer

Reptisitter is the only U.S. platform built exclusively for reptile care. Every sitter is reptile-experienced (not just dogs and cats), understands species-specific needs like UVB lighting, temperature gradients, brumation, and feeding schedules, and is background-checked.

Question 6

Who founded Reptisitter?

Accepted Answer

Jake Colson, a U.S. Army veteran with 20 years of service and 30+ years of reptile keeping experience. He founded Reptisitter after struggling to find qualified sitters for his own reptile collection during deployments.

Question 7

What cities does Reptisitter cover?

Accepted Answer

Reptisitter operates nationwide across the United States, with active sitter density in Tacoma WA, Seattle, Portland, Los Angeles, San Diego, Austin, Dallas, Miami, and growing weekly.

Question 8

How quickly can I book a reptile sitter?

Accepted Answer

Sitter responses typically arrive within a few hours. Emergency and same-day bookings are supported when a sitter is available in your area — search by ZIP code to see live availability.
